Samsung dryer DV45H7000EW/A2 stops after 1 min

Brand: Samsung
Model Number: DV45H7000EW/A2
Main Symptom: sensor not working
What happens & when: Stopped heating. Cleaned the sensor bars by removing them and cleaned all the lint in the dryer. Replaced the heating element. Dryer now heats but when using sensor heating, the dryer shuts off after 1 min. If using Timed Drying, it works fine. What is causing the sensor to not work correctly?

That’s usually going to be in the moisture sensor circuit, either the sensor bars DC61-02627A themselves or the sensor harness DC96-00766A, or the main control board DC92-01624E.

You can lay a wet cloth on the bars and test the sensor bars and circuit from the control board using a multimeter.

Disconnect the washer from power and access the control board in the console, you’ll also need to remove the cover on the board itself, you should see the tabs for this. You can use the pictures below for reference of where to look for the wires you want and the reading you’re looking for, you’re going to disconnect the CN4 connector and check the pink and orange wires. Check you’re reading on the harness, not the board. If it doesn’t give you anything at first make sure that wet cloth is pressed firmly to the bars so that it can form a bridge for them to create a circuit.

If the readings are good you’re looking at replacing the main control board. If they aren’t then the sensors and/or the harness are the issue, check your connections before replacing anything.

Thanks for your explanation and diagram. Very helpful!
I have to admit it was my oversight. Your suggestion to “check all connections” was the issue. I did not reconnect the moisture sensor connector after I had replaced the heating element. Working now!

Thanks again–
