Replacing thermosat in wall oven from 1960

We have an ancient Westinghouse in wall oven from about 1960-61. The thermnostat went out and we finally found a replacemnt for it from Fox Appliance Parts. Does anyone know how to do this? Does anyone have any advice or a diagram/instructions? We love our old oven. It’s in great shape. I think I’ll try and replace the thermostat. What have I got to loose? I can always buy a new oven.
Thanks for any help or advice:) Karen

If you swap the wires to the same # terminals on the replacement unit, It should work. If in doubt, hire a PRO!!!

I have this same model oven and need to find a thermostat replacement.
Can you give me some information on where you found the replacement, the part number, etc.?
Thanks!

Hi, I wanted to know how Fox Appliance was able to help you, were they able to locate the thermostat with just the model number? any information would be helpful.

Thanks

Hi I think we have same unit…OLA-24-6 and need a thermostat also…how did you find the part? TIA John …user id jeliden

I have a vintage Westinghouse wall oven that appears to have a thermostat problem. If you want it 350 degrees you have to set it on 500. I am cooking Thanksgiving this year and need help as soon as possible

I love my oven as well and we went looking fro a replacement but will have to redo cabinets for a new one to fit.. the depth is 23 inches max and standard is 26-27

There are a lot of generic oven thermostats out there. A person that’s good with appliances should be able to install one in your oven. You just need to find one that matches up with your original. Rotation, whether or not yours has broil etc.

Here is one on Amazon.

There are all kinds of them on epay too. There are probably some on this site too. You just need to look around.
