Replacing soap dispenser - trouble with chip

I am replacing the soap dispenser assembly and found what looks like an electronic chip in the old dispenser that I can’t get out. Anyone know how to remove it so I can put it on the new one?

If this is a rinse aid sensor (#11 on the diagram) then it just plugs in the slot.
