Replacing old dryer blower with new

The blower was broken and it had a plastic screw cap over some metal nut(?). I broke off the plastic to reveal the metal nut and now the blower housing cannot come off (it is fine). How do I put the new blower which has a small but built into it or how do I get that old nut that was on the post off so I can put the new blower on the post from the motor?

Thanks, Aaron

If you can make and post a picture it might help to provide the better advise.

Gene.

Bust off all of the blower plastic around the nut, then remove motor. Put an adjustable wrench on the motor pulley end and a pipe wrench on the nut.I think this is a left hand thread so turn the nut clockwise.

Thanks Gene,

I just removed the motor and was able to hold the nut on the backside of the motor and unscrew that crazy metal nut. Thanks for your suggestion. Aaron
