Replacing a surface element in a Jenn-Air JEA8120 class cermanic cartridge with Whirlpool part numnber W10823693

What happens & when: Surface element stopped working mid-use 4 weeks ago.

Error Code (if any):
Parts or tests already tried: Purchased new surface element, Whirlpool part number W10823693; need assistance in determining correct terminals on the new part to connect the wires to and how to determine if I need to replace the epic sensor or not.

This surface element does not have an epic sensor on it. As for the wiring, there will be 2 larger terminals that the L1 and L2 will go to. The L1 goes to the inner terminal and the L2 will go to the outer terminal. The other 2 wires will go to the smaller terminals.
