For several weeks dishwasher had loud whining noise when washing. Now it will not wash but will drain. Each time the wash pump attempts to run, it sounds like it is running but then abruptly stops after a few seconds. Then after a few seconds, it trys to run again but stops after a few seconds. This repeats over and over about 10 or 12 times and then the pump stops completely. Although the wash pump is not running, the control panel cycles through and the drain pump will eventually empty the dishwasher. I have completely removed the washer pump and hot wired it to see that it does exactly the same thing as a standalone motor. The shaft turns then stops then turns then stops every few seconds. The shaft turns freely with no grinding noise. During the few seconds of start stop start stop the motor gets extremely hot and has an electrical smell. I believe I need a whole new pump motor. The original pump motor part number is 8268408. Please advise. Thanks, Charles
