I have a kitchen aid dishwasher and can`t figure out if the control panel is broken or the control board is broken. I have flashing lights on the control panel after a wash. I unplugged the unit and when I plug it back in they begin flashing again…when I try to cancel it then the cancel button flashes. Can you please help me figure this out?
Thanks, Cathy
Cathy,
Do the following test:
1. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power.
2. Open the dishwasher door.
3. Open console and disconnect the keypad ribbon connection from the control (at P1). Make sure all other connections are made.
4. Put console back together. Do not close the dishwasher door.
5. Plug in dishwasher or reconnect power.
6. Wait 5 seconds.
7. Close dishwasher door.
8. Monitor the control’s response:

unplugged), it will respond by turning on a Drain Motor for
2 minutes. Replace the console assembly if the control responds OK
b) If the control is not OK (still sees shorts with the keypad unplugged), then the drain motor will NOT respond and will remain off. If no response, replace the control.

If you need the correct part number for the console assembly, post the color of it.
Gene.

Hello Gene thanks for your response. I Ran the test you gave me and the motor ran for 2 mins so I`ll need the console assembly…The color is stainless steel. If you can post the correct part number, that would be helpful as well.
Thank you again,
