My very old ( more then 20 years) Maytag dishwasher is not releasing soap out of the tray during the cycle. The serial number for this make is L62239 LJ
I am trying to diagnose if it the whole soap dispenser that is broken ( which they do not make anymore) or if it just the tray.

Hello sophiaann. You will need to test and see if there is power coming to the bi-metal when the dispenser is suppose to open. If so, and the bi-metal is not working properly, then you have a bad bi-metal. You can test this with a multi-meter [AP3873826]. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
