Recently I installed a garbage disposal. Of course reading the instructions for such a simple task wasn’t nescessar. Opps…the plug for the dishwasher drain wasn’t removed and the floor was covered with water. (1 time) Removed plug and everything seemmed fine, but the dishwasher seems louder than before while the pump is running. Is it possible that the pump was damaged due to the pressure? How likley may this be or am I just imagining increased noise due to mu mistake?
On which part of the cycle it seems to be louder? What kind of noise is it?

Gene.[/quote] It is when you first start the dishwasher. It seems to be only when the pump is running. During what I would call the fill cycle. The other thing I noticed is that when the unit drains it doesn’t seem to have a great deal of fource. Maybe this is normal as well…I really never payed attention before.

If it is kind of a vibrating noise then it can come from the water shut off valve under sink. It is very common source of such noises. I do not think the improper garbage disposal installation can cause damage to the dishwasher.
Remove all screens inside the dishwasher and make sure there are no any foreign objects.
