I just received this timer (order **16959542) and it fills COLD water on ultralean cycle but no hot. However the permanent press cycle works for hot water as well. If I know what to test with a multimeter, I can check it. Seems defective to me. Can you help?

You didn’t remove the hoses did you? Was this the problem you were having before that made you order the timer?

no hoses removed. B4 ordering new timer I had no functioning cycles at all

With the hot water working on the permanent press cycle, the valve is good. Either they have removed that switch in the timer that activates the hot water for that cycle, or the timer is defective. I noticed there is a temperature sensor in-line with the water feed to the tub. Are the wires still connected to that? Just checking.

I do not see either an in line sensor or a part listed as such?

…and why would they remove a switch for that cycle?

Well, I only have part of your model number so yours may or may not have it. I don’t know about why they would change the timer switches, they have done things like that on other models.

of course! i don’t expect nor demand you have every conceivable answer. where do we go from here? is there a test to do on whether they deactivated one of the switches?

all the model number is 110.22952100

Here is the diagram for your model, it shows a sensor, part number 22. It monitors the water temperature. As far as testing the switches, if there is a tech sheet on your model, the timer switches are displayed in a chart form. it shows what switches are open and what should be closed on that particular position. They can be tricky to read sometimes if you are not familiar with them.

great. thank you. any chance the sensor would work on one hot water cycle and fail on another?

That is what is puzzling, it should work on any cycle, unless, the switch in the timer is not sending voltage to that valve. I don’t think the sensor is bad, I thought it would be good to make sure it was still; connected. That’s why I keep coming back to the timer.

took a min…yes it is connected

Do you have the tech sheet that was in the console to check the timer switches?

i do not don’t knopw where it is and likely could not read it anyway

True, it’s been so long since I used one, I would be rusty at it.

where do we go from here?

Are there any settings on the console we may have missed? Is there a switch that allows you to change the water temps for rinse or wash? I, too, am kinda out of options. Other than the timer. It is the only variable I can see. Are you sure it is the correct timer for your model?
