So, yeah, this is pretty nasty. This is probably about 5-6yrs of growth. We have only recently (over the past 2yrs) been running Affresh and/or Borax through every few months.
Question - is the ‘housing’ that surrounds the detergent drawer removable in order to clean it? If so, how involved is the disassembly? Thanks
Yes, you can take the housing out and here is a service manual that will show you how to do that.

When you take it apart make sure you clean it and the pathways out real well. I think water is staying in there and causing the mold.
