When I plug this in and the compressor 1st comes on, one copper line gets very warm, the other
gets very cold. That last for about 1 minute then the lines return to ambient temperature. Both the compressor and the condenser fan are running.
The electrical diagram shows that they both get power together except that the compressor power passes through the overload components. I replaced the overload relay and the capacitor. ChatGPT was certain those parts were the problem until they were not. My capacitor tester showed the cap had 15 MFD. My meger is not showing issues with the compressor windings, and I am not seeing any shorts or out of bounds ohm readings between them.
I have not been able to find a local repair person yet, however I work on repairing electronics on industrial equipment, I should be able to figure out a refrigerator (I hope). I was refered to a local guy, he was on vacation, not sure if he will help me.
I have been letting the refrigerator run for that past week while waiting for this repair guy. Today I decided to look at the evap coil in the freezer, pulled the cover and the above photo is what I found. Is that a good clue? I completely thawed out the ice and plugged the refrigerator back in.
