My Maytag centennial washer is very noisy on spin cycle

Main Symptom: Washer is VERY noisy during the spin cycle. Even has a noise when I spin the drum manually by hand. It still works as it should but it sounds like a jet engine taking off whenever it spins out the clothes. It gets louder the faster it spins. It’s not leaking or anything.

Based on what you are experiencing, this would be a bearing that has failed on the gearcase. To get the bearing, you will need to replace the gearcase.
