Main Symptom: Foul Smelling Water
What happens & when:
My water/ice from my fridge started tasting bad, so I changed my filter. After that it had a strong sulfur taste. I thought it might have been made worse by the filter for some reason. Might have been a coincidence, but it was really awful.
The water from our kitchen faucet tastes just fine, so this is a problem somewhere between the line coming from the sink plumbing to the water dispenser/ice maker.
I never replaced the filter, just don’t have one. Which is fine if I don’t have something funky going on in the lines. We have well water that tastes great. I just like the convenience of water and ice fill up at the fridge.
I replaced the line at the back of the fridge that goes into the filter area. That helped for a while and it was great. Then, here and there the water started tasting slightly off- kind of like sulfur or freezer burn. Unpleasant.
I was thinking maybe the line from the filter area to the ice maker needs help? I don’t know.
i haven’t used the water/ice dispenser for a few days, and I just went and got some water from the dispenser and it tasted really strongly of sulfur.
Help! I just want to be able to use this thing!
Could it possibly be the line I mentioned? Maybe the metal flex line running from the sink to the fridge? It seems a waste not to be able to use a feature I really like!! And I’m not willing to spend $50 or so to take a chance on another filter when I don’t believe that’s the problem.
