My Ice maker stopped producing ice a few days ago

Brand:Kitchen Aid
Model Number:KFCS22EVMS4
Main Symptom: Ice maker not producing ice
What happens & when: I had had a loss in water pressure a few days ago and also found a puddle of water on the left side of my bottom freezer just under the ice maker. From then on it sounds like the ice maker is going through the cycles but it doesn’t produce any ice at all. I still have water through the water dispenser on the inside of the left side of the refrigerator. I’m not sure what the issue is but would greatly appreciate your help to fix this. I think it may be the ice maker but I would like to be sure before I replace it. Thank you very much.

That’s usually going to be the icemaker, the valve, or a blockage between them. I would test the valve and check that the lines between the valve and the icemaker are clear first.

On this one you can actually test the valve really easily compared to come. Unplug the fridge. Go to the valve in the back and look for the wire connectors. The dispenser valve should have a yellow wire with white tracer and a white wire, while the icemaker valve should have tan and white wires, the dispenser connector should fit on the icemaker valve terminals but the icemaker connector will not fit on the dispenser terminals, but you only need to connect the dispenser connector to the icemaker valve. Then you can plug the fridge in, go back to the front, and call for water at the dispenser for about 7 to 10 seconds, then check if there is water in the icemaker tray. If not, and the lines are clear, then the valve is bad. If there is water in the icemaker tray then the icemaker isn’t calling for water and needs to be replaced. Oh, and don’t forget to correct those connections at the valve if it ends up being the icemaker, I’ve seen that happen before.
