Hello!
Our Maytag dishwasher started spitting black crud into the glasses and mugs, and to track down the problem I took out the racks and the bottom sprayer. I also removed the screws to the flange ring at the bottom.
I didn’t find anything out of the ordinary, and proceeded to reassemble the parts. When I dropped the screws back into the flange ring, they just spun around freely, with nothing to grip. I don’t see any loose parts underneath, and these are screws, not bolts, so there should have been no nuts to fall out. It just looks like the holes are suddenly too big for the screws.
Help! How do I get the dishwasher back together? (And what do I do about the black gunk afterward?)
