The control panel lights up fine as soon as I open the door to put a load of clothes in, and I close the door securely. The wash type defaults to “Light” and 55 minutes of wash and I’m not able to change it. The start button is flashing but won’t start when I press it, and the machine just beeps when I press any button. I was able to find a refurbished control board from Sears and replaced the old one. I was able to do a couple of loads completely, then the control panel went back to malfunctioning. That same company said the problem was the motor control board so I bought and changed that as well. It worked once or twice, then control panel malfunction again. I could fool it into working by pressing a bunch of different buttons, unplug and plug back in, etc., but even so, the wash cycle stops before it spins. The only things left to change that affect the spin cycle seems to be the latch (which seems to be working fine since I can’t pull the door open when the control panel door lock indicator light is lit) and the wax motor.
