Brand: Maytag
**Model Number:**MTW5600TQ1
Main Symptom: Intermittent spin cycle and grease spot under transmission
What happens & when: drum does not always spin during spin cycle, especially with heavy loads like towels. Grease spot on floor under transmission, some rust on transmission from intermittent water. Leaking intermittently, not sure if its during large loads coming from topside splashing or from bottom somewhere.
Most likely the centerpost gasket is leaking and would need to be replaced. The clutch would also likely be the issue with the unit not spinning properly.

I replaced both parts, the spinning issue has resolved. The leak still remains, it only leaks when filled to super plus level, the leak only happens when the tub is full. If we run a load on a large fill, it does not leak. When I had the cabinet off, I filled the tub and could see the leak coming down from the center onto the clutch and transmission. When replacing the centerpost gasquet, there was a lot of muck and rust where the inner tub set on the drive block. Could this indicate an issue there where water is getting down during a large load?
It sounds like the issue may be caused by a tub that may be leaking causing this issue.
