Main Symptom: Ice Maker not working freezer running warm
What happens & when: Our original issue was the Power Failure alarm continually sounding. We ordered a control panel from Appliance Parts Pros and replaced that. The unit worked well for several days although the unit seemed to run louder than before the control panel change. Then the ice maker stopped working and we began noticing frozen foods getting soft. There is frost/ice over the back panel of the freezer. We checked all connections on the Control Panel to ensure that a loose connection wasn’t causing the problem. Wondering what our next step should be and what parts we would need to order and replace. A less pressing matter is that the refrigerator light also does not work or works off and on which has been a problem for several years

With frost building on the rear wall, check the defrost thermostat and the defrost heater to make sure that they are good. If they are faulty replace the part. If they are good then it sounds like you may have a bad control. The fact that the freezer is warm would cause the icemaker to not work.

I cannot seem to locate a Defrost Thermostat to purchase on the site. Any tips? Also is there a way to test the defrost thermostat and defrost heather other than just replacing them? Finally, by a bad control do you mean a bad control board…meaning the one we just installed may be bad? Thanks for your help.
