Maytag MAV5758EWW terrible spinning noise & belt dust

Brand: Maytag
Model Number:MAV5758EWW
Main Symptom: Spinning noise & belt dust
What happens & when: Spin cycle

I like my ~2015 Maytag washer, it loads/washes/agitates/pumps/brakes fine, but it has started making a terrible freight train noise on the spin cycle and lots of belt dust on the floor. I *think* the top bearing in the 35-6615 transmission has gone ? - but the part is unobtainable or very expensive ~$400 and thus time for a new washer. Looking for advice/conformation before I go shopping. I don’t think the thrust bearing kit 12002213 per the great uTube video would help ?. Clothes come out OK, ears are ringing !, thanks.

MAV5758EWW Unfortunately it does sound like a bearing issue and those part have been discontinued by the manufacturer.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I went out and bought a new Maytag washer, it works, but I miss my “old fashioned and trusty, designed before the HE rules” MAV5758EWW. It’s a real pity the top bearing of the MAV5758EWW transmission did not have an old fashioned grease nipple - I then could have filled it with grease, and probably got another 10 good years out of it.
