Maytag is balky when it comes to draining

We bought this house 4 years ago with dishwasher present. It worked fine until I went on a trip and got the infamous call, “Things only breakdown while you are away”. So back home now, drain to garbage disposal is open, disconnected drain hose and put in plastic container just a dribble of water, and leaves the tub full. Mama blames me and I could sure use some help. Thanks in advance! jeff

Thanks Nat! I have pulled the two screens and didn’t see anything that might obstruct them. Where or how do I check the pump & motor for debris? Keep up the good work in Missouri! ( former Marshfield, Exeter and Springfield resident now living in Okla.).
