Maytag dishwasher model # MDB6650AWS wont fill. The dishwasher was accidentally run when I had coldwater supply line shut off while changing out water filters to sink. Dishwasher apparently ran a full cycle and was bone dry. Really dont want to replace with a new one if I dont need to. I have turned water supply back on and unit runs without filling up. Would anyone know if I burned the pump or motor that would fill unit? Really not familiar with motor/pump issues.
Make sure the float (#9 at the diagram) is all the way down and there is nothing suck under the float.
Remove the bottom panel and check the float switch (#14).

Thanks Gene. Checked float switch and made sure it was down. Still no water flow. double checked supply line and it is clear. Is there a way to determine if float is bad or water pump where supply connects?
Can you describe it more detailed please?
Gene.
Unit has no water flow. Checked that float is down and retried sending water. Did not work. Should I assume float switch is bad or could it be water inlet valve? Really cant see what else could be the trouble. The motor runs normally when turned on and starting a cycle but no water makes it into the dishwasher..
your response did not come through
Remove the wires from the water inlet valve solenoid and check for 120 VAC between these wires while the control calls for water.
If the reading is correct, check for proper pressure in the incoming water line. If there is nothing wrong, replace the water inlet valve.
If the reading is incorrect, check the float switch for continuity. If it’s open, replace the switch.
