I lost the piece that holds the control panel ribbon cable to the control board. I assumed it was a standard connector, but I can’t seem to find it.
I think it’s a zero insertion force connector where the locking piece is just a flattened oval piece of plastic that goes over the connector.
Does anyone know anything about this connector?
The board part number is W10218822.
Looks like Maytag does not sell this piece separate and it is very important to have it to maintain proper connection between the control board and the ribbon cable. I’m afraid you have to order the whole new control board.
Thanks a lot for the response, Gene.
I just hate buying the whole board when all I need is a piece of plastic. It’s hard for me to believe that this connector is proprietary. I can understand that the control panel switches/cable is made exclusively for the dishwasher manufacturer, but the connector? However, I can’t seem to find a connector that matches it. I’m hoping that I’m just missing something since I don’t follow connectors regularly.
You are probably right. I also keep thinking that there must be places that sell stripped parts off of old machines like junkyards with car parts (do people still do that?), but I haven’t found any place yet, on ******** or anywhere else.
