Maytag commercial technology washing machine stopping mid wash cycle with water in washer still

Brand:Maytag
**Model Number:**MVWB765FW4
Main Symptom: wash cycle messing up halfway through
What happens & when: during wash cycle the wash water will stay filled in the washer and not drain until the washer is turned off. While this is happening, the timer will either keep counting down the minutes yet not draining the water and not going into the other phases during the wash cycle or it will add a lot more time to the cycle. Sometimes it will say three hours sometimes it will say seven hours to finish the cycle. Sometimes if I unplug it and let it set for 30 minutes or so it may work properly the next time by then again it also may not work properly the next time.

Error Code (if any):
Parts or tests already tried: we have not tried anything aside from unplugging the washing machine
Photos / video link: I currently do not have any photos as sometimes it does not work properly and sometimes it does so I wouldn’t be able to get photos until it occurred again

It would be recommended to put the unit into service diagnostic mode to see if there are any error codes. Error codes will help with determining what may be wrong.

How do you put it into diagnostic mode?

It is on the tech sheet that I sent you on how to enter diagnostics.

Great thank you I didn’t see that I will try it this evening.

Codes e3 and fo came up when we did the diagnostic test

can you help me figure out what would be wrong with those codes. I’m not sure if they are separate codes E3 and F0 or if it’s F0E3 when I looked up that code in the manual you sent me it was the code put together F0E3 but I don’t know what that code means exactly and how to fix it

The F0 E3 error code indicates an overload issue. This is displayed when the main control detects a load size that exceeds the washers capacity or the basket cannot be turned. If the washer is not being overloaded, check for mechanical friction on the drive mechanism or basket. Items possibly between the inner and outer tub.

Yes it is not being over loaded. Are you talking where the agitator meets the outside part of the washing machine if that makes sense?

Yes, that would be one location but also pull the inner tub to make sure that there is nothing caught between the inner and outer tubs.

I will try that. Is there anything else I should check! A filter in the machine or anything like that?

No there is no filter that would need to be checked. Nothing else to check.

We tried to unscrew the agitator if that is what your talking about but we don’t have a long enough tool to get to the screw holding it together.

has soapy water, time keeps going down won’t drain or go to the rinse cycle. Will only drain if I turn it off then I changed it to a quick wash after un plugging it for 20 minutes and that time it stayed filled up but it was filled 3/4 of the way up and the time was changing from 1h 5minutes back up to an hour and 9 minutes then a few seconds after that changed again to an hour 19 minutes that is when I powered the machine off and then all the water drained out. I then did drain and spin so the clothes weren’t soaking wet

Could it be the mother board? Sometimes it does this sometimes it doesn’t.
