Maytag Centennial top load washing machine shakes violently on spin cycle

Main Symptom: shakes and moves on spin cycle with every load. Machine is leveled but keeps getting off balanced.
What happens & when: during every spin cycle the machine will violently shake and try to walk across the floor.

I have a Maytag centennial top load washer that shakes and makes a loud banging noise during the spin cycle. I’m not sure what it is. The unit is 10 years old AT least. It used to not do this unless the load was off balance. No, there isn’t any noise when I spin the drum manually by hand.
