Main Symptom: VERY LOUD noise in Spin Cycle.. and shaking
What happens & when:Replaced thurst/bearing and belt… because it wasn’t spinning, … with the repair… It still didn’t spin (Agitation was strong, water drains but still didn’t spin) … but then I spun the basket with my hand counter clockwise and turned on spin cycle and it WORKED, EXCEPT… NOW IT is MAKING A REALLY LOUD noise about 20 seconds into the SPIN CYCLE!! HELP!!

please help here… I had a repair man come out and he barely checked it.. and said it was the transmission? Does that sound like a transmission problem. I thought tub bearing… but is the repair for that very costly. He said they don’t make the transmissions for this washer.. it is over 24 years old
KimHart, this is going to likely be one of three issues, either the brake not disengaging properly, a bearing issue, or a transmission failure. When the noise is being made, does it sound like a car brake squealing, does it sound like a jet engine taking off, or does it sound more like a loud grinding noise?
