My Matag Quite Series 300 has an issue or two… the unit will fill with water, then go idle, then turn off… in rinse only mode, it will fill, then try 3 times to start, then turn off… it will empty with no problems.. I think it might be a circuit board … your professional assistance is needed… thanks in advance! Ken
Most likely there is a problem with the wash pump and/or motor. Remove the lower spray arm and disassemble the pump from the top of it. Inspect for a foreign objects inside and the pump impellers. You can find the pump disassembly instructions in the Service manual. Even this manual for a different model numbers - the pump design is the same.

If the motor is bad, would it be better to buy a newer used unit for about near to double the cost of the motor? Ill tear into it tonight… Hope to find something in the impellers..Thanks for your time… I will update you… Ken Spring TX

Gene, cleaned it down to the shaft… tried rinse mode.. it does the same thing… lights on, fills with water, then 3 motor tries …the it stops… and turns off… Tried the wash mode.. lights on, fills with water and does nothing… lights stay on… about 3 mins later it cycles on 3 times then turns off… help…
Remove the toe panel and check the motor. If it’s warm or hot then the motor is the culprit.

P.S. You have to do it right after it was trying to start.
Gene, did the heat test, motor is cool as can be… I failed to metion that I was able to spin the shaft very freely during the disassembly… what can I do next?
Remove the plug from the wash pump motor and check for continuity between the Blue & Yellow and Blue & Red terminals. Post the results.
The following article on our forum will explain in detail how to run a continuity test using either an analog meter or a digital meter - How To Check Continuity With Ohmmeter

No cont between any of the conductors:cool:
The motor is the culprit. The parts you have to order if you are going to fix it are:
The motor AP4365135
The seal kit AP6009901

Gene, after reading your deduction, it hit me that you wanted to check the terminals on the motor and not the leads on the harness… oops! Anyway, my wife was killing me for a resolution… so Saturday I bought a new Kenmore 13442 on sale for $300.00… seems to be doing great and is alot quiter… feedback on the K13442??
Thanks for your time, help and support!! I will be saving this website!
