LG Washer eats drain pumps

I just found this post and cracking up that this issue continues to live on… I’ve been changing my Pump every 6 months for 3 years now… I think I’m delirious…

Not sure why I have not sold it yet. It’s a combo unit and everything else seems to be wearing just fine but this one component.

I called LG customer service just to basically tell them the parts junk. Yup no LG ever again. I’m on my 4th have the machine 7 years.

Same, this is my 5th pump replacement in 5 years. We have a model where you have to dismantle the whole unit from the back in order to reach the pump. It costs 300-400 every time, and we have to wait 1-2 months before it can be repaired. LG doesn’t care, i’ve reached out to them a number of times and they do not think they are responsible in any way.

I removed my pump and the impeller wasn’t broken. I pulled the impeller off the pump body and it was full of wet lint. Tempted to reinstall it now since it appears to be fine otherwise but already ordered a new pump. Might just keep this one around for a quick swap if it fails again but just based on the pump design how or why would lint get inside the pump assembly behind the impeller?
