Parts or tests already tried: Part I received (MFG63099101) via Amazon does not work (not sure whether it is an OEM part). LG says I have to replace the entire door (about $400). Can I replace the door strike?

The door strike listed for this model is part number MFG63099101. Did the original door strike break at the section going into the lock or did it break at the door? If any pictures could be provided, it can help to see exactly what may be going on.
Hi William - Thnx for your reply. The door strike broke on the door itself - below is a photo of showing broken door strike on the door itself (a piece of the plastic broke off). I purchased part MFG63099101 online but it does not fit into the slot on the washer where it needs to fit to actually close the door (see photo of part I purhcased). Is it possible that I rec’d a non OEM part that is just not made right? Thnx for any guidance you can provide. This is a very small inexpensive part. I did call LG - they said I had to buy the entire door ($377 & shipping) and could not replace the part. I’m looking for a better solution.
I do not see in my available information that the strike should have been changed to metal like the one in the picture. Everything I am seeing shows it should still be plastic like the original. However, it also looks like the door strike broke off at the section that goes into the lock. If it broke inside of the lock, it can cause the strike to seem like it doesn’t fit and it would either need to be removed if possible, or the lock itself would need to be replaced. If the broken off section is removed from the lock, and the strike does not fit, it may be an incorrect strike in a package with the correct part number.
