That sounds like the coils on the gas valve are weak and not holding the valves open. Usually it will not come back on immediately First, check the vent to make sure it is clear, a restriction can cause the cycling thermostat to short cycle.
I have cleaned the vent of all lint also blew high volume air and vacuumed duct inside the dryer. I had a repair person come. He opened the door, held the safety switch in and started the dryer. You could hear the gas ignite and about 10 seconds later the gas shut off and about two minutes later ignite again and repeat. The repairman stated it was faulty “gas dryer solenoid sensor valve”??. Don’t really remember but the cost was $400+.
That is the same part I mentioned to you, just a different name. Now you can decide whether it is worth fixing or not.
What is the specific part number that I need to order?
