What happens & when: knocking noise before dumping ice into the ice bucket

Parts or tests already tried: Problem has been consistent now for several weeks.

This knocking noise has been occurring for several months and is now occurring each time the ice maker prepares to dispense ice.

Ice is being made.

If we turn off the ice maker, the noise goes away. Noise returns again as before when ice maker is reactivated.

I’d like to know what part to order to that would most likely eliminate the problem.

I’d be leaning towards the ice maker assembly AEQ73130002, from your description. Sounds like the shaft that drives the fingers that push the ice out is slipping a few times until the ice is broken free enough for it not to slip under load.
