As said above. The ice maker works fine, but water dispenser is not working. It makes a noise like its dispensing, but nothing comes out. I have replaced the filter, and tried the unfreeze technique using the syringe/tube and hot water.

I am wondering if it could be the door valve, MJX57597703, that needs to be replaced. Instead of the valve at the back of the refrigerator.

Hi, the final diagnosis depends on what happens during the hinge test.

If water comes out of the cabinet-side line with good pressure, the main inlet valve and supply line are working. That means the problem is inside the door, and the door valve #MJX57597703 is the most likely part that needs to be replaced.

If no water comes out of the cabinet-side line, don’t replace the door valve yet. The problem is before the door, most likely the main inlet valve or a blocked/kinked water line.

Thank you - could you direct me how to do a hinge test? I assume it is somewhere on the forum but not finding it.

I also pulled out the refrigerator and checked the hose, nothing is kinked and I followed it into the unfinished basement everything looks good where it attaches to the main supply. If it were the main inlet valve, would the ice maker still be working/receiving water?

Hi, to do the hinge test:

  1. Unplug the refrigerator and locate the water line connection at the bottom left door hinge.

  2. Find where the line coming from underneath the refrigerator connects to the line going up into the door.

  3. Push the collar on the quick-connect fitting inward while gently pulling the door-side tube straight out.

  4. Put the cabinet-side line/fitting into a cup or bucket.

  5. Plug the refrigerator back in and press and hold the water dispenser for a few seconds.

If water comes out with good pressure, the supply up to the door is working, which points to the door valve #MJX57597703 or a blockage inside the door.

If no water comes out, the problem is before the door, so the main inlet valve or supply line needs to be checked next.

Hi, you want to test the cabinet side, not the line going up into the door.

Disconnect the connection at the bottom left hinge and leave the door-side tube disconnected. Point the line/fitting coming from underneath the refrigerator cabinet into a cup or bucket, then press the dispenser.

If water comes out of the cabinet side with good pressure, the problem is inside the door and the door valve #MJX57597703 is the main suspect. If no water comes out, check the main inlet valve or supply line next.

I disconnected and tested the line before it reaches the valve, at the bottom of the door and water comes out of the long coiled tube. I assume this means the door valve, #MJX57597703 should be replaced. I can purchase the part, is there a video of this valve being replaced that you are aware of? I can only find videos for the main inlet valve.

i think this might be the video that can help you more or less https://youtu.be/Rgu4FfGL4_M?si=cOKy7H2YVLbYr6Zt
