Did the unit restart when you let it cool down or is it still dead?
I doubt it is the push to start switch.
More likely bad power or the thermal fuse.

First thing you want to do is flip the breaker off and on for the dryer a few times to see if it is tripped. If you have a meter check the power where the cord goes into the back of the dryer. The other 2 things it could be is the door switch or thermal fuse. It is usually the thermal fuse.
