Leaking Washer

Old belt driven Whirlpool washing machine has a slow agitator spin and is leaking water.

Determined water leak is coming from the water drain pump AND from the area where the drainage rubber grommet is located just below the outer tub. I do not really want to replace the pump. Is there a gasket on the bottom cover of the water pump, where the gasket seam is located? Is this part available by itself? Will placement of some type of sealant stop the leak? If so, what type of sealant is recommended?

When replacing the rubber grommet, is it recommended to install some type of sealant on it? If so what specifically is the recommended sealant.

Lastly, appears I need to tighten the belt. When the machin is operating, I can grasp the agitator, and stop it, so I suspect a loose belt. Do you agree?

Whirlpool and Maytag recommend sealant #27615P from most parts distributors, but I personally think most 3M sealants would work as long as it says Water resistant…

That’s the problem I am having, locating a sealant that is RRESISTANT TO CONTINUOS WATER. I will check into obtaining the #27615P sealant. Thanks.
