Brand: Kitchenaid Model Number: KFIS20XVMS11 Main Symptom: Display off and making clicking noise. ice chute opens opens every click and then shuts What happens & when: display board making a clicking noise which seems to cause the ice chute door to open a fraction every click. after 30 clicks/seconds, the chute closes
Error Code (if any):
Parts or tests already tried: I disassembled the front water dispenser and tested ice switch (tested fine). audiable clicking noise coming from the display control board and the display itself is off. Ice chute door follows the clicks and opens slightly every click until around 30 clicks at which time, the ice chute door closes and repeats the cycle.

That sounds more like a failing control board or power supply issue than a problem with the ice door itself. The clicking is usually a relay repeatedly trying to energize, and the ice chute is reacting to it. I’d start by checking for bad capacitors or burnt spots on board, but if display is dead and the clicking is coming from WP13053103SP, there’s a good chance that board is the culprit.
Thanks for the feedback. So this problem has been happening for a few months now. The display would turn off and would make the clicking noise. Typically it’ll do this for an hour or 2 and then return back to normal operation. But the duration the display board goes offline seems to be getting longer and longer.
As well, when the display board clicks/turns off, it seems like the fridge itself stop cooling. It’s been 12hours now and the food is getting warmer and the freezer is starting to thaw.
Is the relay a part of the main control board? It looks like the main board is an available part but the display board is more difficult to find (i can only find refurbed off ebay).
