Please help…I broke a glass in the dishwasher, and some of the broken glass pieces fell through the small openings in the draining unit on the bottom of the dishwasher ( I’m not sure, but it might be called the coarse filter?). How do I remove the lower spray arm and whatever else needs to be removed to get the unit open so I can clean it out? I tried to twist the small knob on top of the spray arm, but it seems very solidly attached, I’m afraid to break it off.
The knob may be a lefthand thread. CBM
I had the same problem a few years back. The unit was under warranty so I called a tech.He said the glass fragments would be ground-up by the dishwasher.Sure enough, after two full cycles the glass was gone.If you cannot wait, the spray arm, water supply to the spray arm and that flying saucer shaped disc at the bottom must be removed to get at the large items trapped.I found tooth picks and small misc. debris. It’s not that difficult a job for someone with some mechanical ability.Good luck.
