I have a Kitchen Aid Refrigerator KSRW25C that makes ice correctly but will not shut off when the bin is full or via the ice maker control switch. The ice maker continues to make ice and since it cannot dump into the full bin continues to fill water for the next batch of ice which dribbles down the inside and freezes. I have tested the optical sensor and confirmed it is working correctly, but somewhere between that sensor or the manual switch, the signal to stop is not passed on correctly. I tested the optical sensor by holding the left side paddle in and the red light on the right side stays on - when I turn off the manual ice maker switch the red light does a double blink regardless of the left side paddle. I did a full defrost of the entire fridge before hooking it up and trying again to same result. Would appreciate some help, thanks.
The model number appears to be a partial model. If the full model number could be provided, it will allow the most accurate information to be given. Looking at the images, it seems like the ice level sensor optics are likely going to operate with 120 Volts AC. Commonly, these optics operate independently of the rest of the refrigerator system aside from the door switch. Since the ice is overfilling, replacing the ice level sensor receiver will likely correct the issue.
