Would it be possible to provide a picture of the foot pedal where the lifting legs are? Also, does it feel loose when it is installed or does it seem like it is sitting solidly in place?
I have been trying to figure out where or how to add the video/pics… The pedal is tight in place when closed and you need a couple of attempts pressing on the pedal until it will open. When open the pedal is loose and flops up & down easily.
A picture can be added by highlighting the image and copying it, then pasting it into the reply box. When the drawer is opened, is there anything behind the drawer (like a small bottle or a bunched-up bag that may have fallen) that might be pushing on it and causing it to have excessive pressure?
I have taken apart the trash draw and everything looks good, there is no place on the pedal that it looks like something is broken or fallen off… It just sticks and needs multiple attempts to finally get it to open. I am unable to highlight the picture/video to send. It does not give me that option.
When the foot pedal is pressed, does it want to not move at all, or will it move and the drawer just will not lift until a few attempts are made? Are there any burs or other indicators of where the hang-up might be along the tracks and front of the frame? Also, do the rollers rotate freely, or is there one that seems a little stiff?
When close the pedal does not move at all it takes numerous attempts and then it finally lifts and opens the door when the door is open the pedal is just flapping, not engaged in anything there were no birds it has been level since it was put in. It’s always worked fine comparing it to the other self-help videos. There are no other screws on the pedal referring to attenuator switch? Just the two screws that attach it to the base.
It is correct that the foot pedal is only connected to the base with the two screws. I do not see any release attached to it based on the manufacturer’s information. With it being as stiff to open as it is, the next question would be is the ram lifting up enough for the bin to not hit it when the foot pedal is being pressed? A way to tell if it is the ram is does the door still provide that resistance after it has been opened then closed, and the compactor has not been operated in between the times the door is being opened?

If I lift up the draw a bit when it’s closed and let it drop back down, I find the pedal activates the bin lifting it and opening it. Does that tell you or help at all?
If the drawer feels like it might be sticking a little bit when lifted by hand, the frame and bin would need to be thoroughly cleaned. I have seen where a residue can cause the bin to stick and not open properly. If it does not feel like it sticks at all, the only thing I could think of would be the pedal may be starting to oblong where the mounting screws go through to secure it to the bin.
I cleaned off all the wheels and nothing changed…I did realize that if I pull up on the handle of the draw/bin when its closed it does something that when I step on the pedal it allows it to open
