Kenmore washing machine stopped after wash cycle. Manually set rinse and spin cycle which finished. A water inlet valve was initially recommened I ordered an inlet valve but thinking this might not be the fix. Any ideas?

When it stopped after the wash cycle did it fill with water and just sit there or never fill with water? Also I need your model # ?
