Hi,
This beast is not draining: so far I have..
Checked the drain tube to the sink - not clogged.
Unscrewed & checked the check valve - it is clean
Removed the motor, it spins freely in both directions
( I think for this model the motor spins backwards to evacuate the water.
With motor off, re-joined the plugs & ground, motor would not spin when put on drain cycle.
When I put it on the drain cycle there is a noise ( kinda heavy vibrating sound - which seems to come from a small red-wire wound unit ( size of a sewing thread spool). I notice the motor getting VERY warm. Noise stops after 15 sec or so, cannot get it to do it again via drain cycle unless I wait, then I hear a click in the motor - only then can I recreate the sound.
One of the wires from the main cable go to this red wire spool, ( about 4 go to it in total) then a wire comes from it to the motor. Unplugging this wire, the motor does nothing and no sound is heard.
On the drain cycle I am getting 120 volts from one of the wires that goes to the motor.
So I am thinking I need a new motor or that wound-red-wire thing ( is it a transformer of some sort?)
If I get a new motor ( I’ll see what is said here) do I need new gaskets and an alignment tool? Anything else that needs to be replaced when replacing a motor?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
If I can get it working again, I will save about $400:eek: in these tough time instead of buying a new one..
Matt
