Brand: Kemore Model Number: 790.94203310 Main Symptom: Oven shutting off in the middle of baking / cooking What happens & when: I will press bake on oven, set to 350 (for example) it’ll fully preheat. I’ll put food into the oven, and set the timer on the oven. I’ll go check on the food, and the oven is no longer heating and it is back to reading the time on the panel. I’ll re-preheat the even to 350, and it’ll turn back on and heat up, and resume cooking. This will happen multiple times sometimes within the span of a few minutes. Other times, this will only happen once every 5-6 uses of the oven. It is very sporadic, but lately has been occurring with every use. Do I need to replace the heating element? Please help! Thanks!!

If it is sometimes working and the cycle seems to be getting cancelled out entirely when the issue occurs, I would suspect the main control board AP5788417 having an issue or the door switch AP3851660 not making fully.
For testing purposes only, you might try taping down that door switch so that you know it is fully made or bypassing it and seeing if the issue goes away. If it does then you’ll need to replace that switch. I do not recommend operating the oven outside of testing with that switch taped down or bypassed.
Thank you for your response! Regarding the door switch (oven light) part, if the oven light turns on and off as it should normally when the door is opened or shut etc. would this likely be the issue? Are you able to further explain to me the door switch portion? Or does that rule out the door switch as the problem if the light is currently working as it should? Thanks!
If that light seems to be working properly then it isn’t likely to be the switch. This is a simple 2-wire switch, so you’re not needing it to make another contact to send feedback to the control from what I can see.
If it were the element itself it wouldn’t work ever. I’m thinking the main control because you are sometimes able to “bully” it into working from the description. Logic and stuck key issues can be weird like that, where you keep trying the same thing enough time and it eventually works. Also, the fact that it looks like it is cancelling the cycle, if the element was bad it wouldn’t know it, it’d act like it is still heating on the display.
