Kenmore freezer - door ajar alarm is beeping door is tightly closed

If you open the door and press the door switch closed by hand, does the light turn off? If not, the door switch has likely failed. If the light does turn off, the wires at the door hinge would need to be checked. If the wires are good, and the door switch is good, the main control would be the likely issue.
