Kenmore dryer will not heat.3 weeks-- my wife is mad

Lots of complaints on this dryer on epinions.com.

Here is what i have done. I have by passed the two relays in the panel.
Motor and heat relays.
also, by passed the thermistor and temp fuse on the bottom of unit.
i checked the heat coil and it only gets 120volts to one side of the coil.

the original computer board is the AP6015194 is now w10116565
before i order this part. is there a way to bypass this board and connect the other side of the 220 volt directly to the coil and see if the heat comes on. i dont see any problems in doing this but want to check with the experts before i set my home on fire since i am self taught “ham” in electronics.
or is there a way to test the board before i replace it since others have done this and it still did not heat. i am only bypassing to solve the problem.

All this bypassing is asking for trouble. The thermostats, fuse and thermistor are SAFETY devices that should be bypassed FOR DIAGNOSIS PURPOSES ONLY. You’re better off checking each component to find the faulty one, and replacing it.

First place to check is the power supply. You should have 220-240VAC at the outlet. Some double breakers can trip on one side and still be live on the other. This will give the dryer 110-120VAC to run whatever components are related to that particular line.

that the first thing i did check with my volt ohm meter.. its hot all the way to the inside panel. both sides read 110 to ground

I am only bypassing to find the problem of no heat to the coils. Is their a way to bypass the computer board and see if the unit heats, or maybe bypass the timer and see if the unit heats.
