Kenmore dryer 11061202011 heat but no spin, even when door is open

Main Symptom: Electric dryer, heat but no spin
What happens & when:As soon as timer is moved from off position the heating element comes on without pressing start. Heat stays on when timer is in any position besides one of the off positions, heat stays on even when door is opened. Belt is in good shape and bearings spin freely.

Error Code (if any): none
Parts or tests already tried:Swapped motor and timer with new parts.

Based on the information provided it sounds like the element is shorted to ground and would need to be replaced.

Thanks both! I wasn’t able to find the diagram anywhere on the internet and I appreciate the clean PDF scan. I will try the heating element.

Replacing the heating element fixed the heat coming on at the wrong time but I still don’t have spin, will open the front back up tomorrow and double check the motor is connected properly.
