Kenmore Dishwasher 665.1457 stops in mid cycle, then resumes when you press START

What happens & when: When we select any Wash cycle, the cycle starts normally, then stops, unit beeps and lights blink. If you press START, the dishwasher resumes for a short time, then stops again, beeps and blinks. It continues to do this thoughout the cycle, and if you keep pressing START, the cycle eventually completes. There is no regular interval, it can be 5 minutes, 20 minutes, or 12 minutes between stops.

Power never goes off, machine drains properly after a cycle. Machine fills OK, filters and spray arms cleaned.

Although the error seems related to the door switch, the machine stops and can be restarted without doing anything to the door. And the door switch/latch mechanism has been replaced.

Error Code (if any): F5, E1 (different codes each time you run diagnostics)
Parts or tests already tried: Replaced main pump and door latch switch assembly

Look for a loose or damaged wire for the door latch assembly. If all the wiring is good then this would be an issue with the control board.
