Kenmore 13733 won't wash/motor is hot

I have a Kenmore dishwasher model 13733. It recently stop working. It starts and go silent when it suppose to pump water and wash. It does not wet the dishes at all though water filling and draining works fine.

I ran the diagnostic program and it did not give any hint nor meaningful LED indicator. I suspected the circulation pump is faulty. I opened up the unit and found the circulation pump motor was very hot. I was able to dismantle the motor and found the rotary coil was very difficult to turn. There were some debris inside the motor plastic cap, i shaked them out and finally spray some WD40 and the motor was able to turn smoothly.

I reassembled the motor and it still won’t work, same symptom – the pump motor did not start. Does this means the motor is completely dead? or there are something else is broken?

The motor model is LG DMR-170L1 P/N: 8534941. I am trying to find this motor online but did not seems to be able to find the exact model from LG.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Most likely the motor has gone bad.

The model number of the dishwasher you posted is incomplete. Verify and repost it.
