Kenmore 110.24642300 Direct Drive wont spin- replaced clutch and motor coupler

Good to know. I will reinstall and make sure it is proper and do a no tub test before next steps (which will include some kind of inner tub replacement to rule out basket drive then.)

Regarding the inner tub- a friend said they had an old washer I could see about using tub. It is not in great shape, but does not have very big hole on the post like the one I took off. However it has a weird stain as you can see in the picture. Is this from transmission oil being thrown up into the inside of the inner tub or is it something else? Not knowing what that is, I don’t know if it will cause further damage. And the rust throwing out from like sun rays.

This is the original tub which has no stain like that at all and only one sesame size hole (to mig weld/JB water weld) but down in the inside there is the large one you can see in the pic up in other post.

Unfortunately, I would not be able to say what could have caused that stain. I don’t think it would have been oil from the transmission or drive tube.

trying a JB water weld putty patch on the small holes in the tub…will paint the 2 part epoxy marineweld over. I put a coat of rust reformer primer/paint before I did the patch.

Now I am trying to figure out what these copper shavings are around the transmission shaft. was looking for a seal to replace and found this. someone suggested T bearing? I am not sure it that is in the drive tube or how the shavings would be here.
