I have a KA dishwasher and the door will not open. It has been acting up for a few months. I had to wiggle it, then it would open. I have well water so I thought maybe there was some build up blocking it. But, now it will not open at all. I tried the child lock, the problem is not that.
I tried the shutting the dishwasher down it is not that. The problem is with the latch. Do you know how to get the dishwasher door open?
You could try pushing the door in a little and try unlatching it.
Next i would try pushing a butter knife between the plastic latch and the metal striker plate attached to the unit’s frame.
Once I get the door open, do you think it is the latch that will need to be replaced?
Yes
Could be the striker plate but more likely the latch.
But you will not knoe till you take a look behind the inner door panel.
