JennAir Stove panel just displays 'Jenn-Air' Logo

JennAir JDRP436WP02 Serial D50809314

In looking at your parts explosion , it appears that the Whirlpool Range User Interface Power Control Board will resolve this issue. The description states that when the display is stuck on the JennAir Logo, this part fixes it. The unit took a power failure/spike last night. No other damage, i.e. all 6 burners work fine.

Yes the control board ( Whirlpool WPW10145531 Range User Interface Power Control Board | Genuine OEM Part ) probably suffered a fault due to the power surge. Before you purchase have you tried unplugging it fo 5-10 minuted to reset it? Tried getting into diagnostic mode?

Jeffrey thanks for the advice. Question, How do I initiate the diagnostic mode?

Just a word of advice if your screen is still stuck on the logo after you cycle power on/off you may not be able to get into diagnostics

Jeffrey, I powered it down for 10 minutes and powered up. It cleared the problem and working fine. Thanks for your assistance. For the future , does this type of problem get fixed permanently by replacing the board?

Sometimes but that hard reset is usually all it takes

If I should buy the board sometime in the future, does it sit directly behind the display component ( Called Range Oven Control Board)?

Yes all you have to do is remove the control panel

Jeff are you available to continue this discussion

yes i am here mon - fri 9am to 6pm except for a 1 hour lunch

Great, I purchased the board that was suggested and installed it. Problem still exists and the behavior of the display is the same as before. Every 2 minutes 45 seconds the JennAir logo disappears to a blank screen, then jennair logo reappears.

Part was W10145531 for JDRP436WP02 stove

  1. Always start with the hard reset

2. Replace the CR2032 battery on the display board

This model’s touchscreen/display assembly contains a CR2032 coin-cell battery. Surprisingly, many owners with this exact symptom have restored normal operation simply by replacing this inexpensive battery.

To access it:

  • Turn the breaker OFF.
  • Remove the burner knobs.
  • Remove the two screws securing the front control panel.
  • Locate the CR2032 battery on the back of the display board and replace it with a new one.
  • Restore power and test.

While this isn’t an official Jenn-Air repair procedure, it has solved the problem for many JDRP436WP02 owners experiencing the logo freeze.

3. Inspect connectors

With power still disconnected:

  • Unplug and reconnect every connector on:
    • the touchscreen/display board
    • the power supply board
    • the main oven control
  • Look for corrosion, loose pins, or heat damage.

4. If it still hangs on the logo

At that point the most likely causes are:

  • Failed main oven control board (most common according to Whirlpool/Jenn-Air parts support)
  • Failed user interface/display assembly
  • Less commonly, a failed power supply board.

In Whirlpool’s own parts support for this exact model, a range stuck on the Jenn-Air logo after a power interruption was diagnosed as a failed main oven control board, not the display board.

A few questions

  1. Can you hear any relays clicking every few seconds, or is the logo completely frozen?
  2. Is the touchscreen responsive at all, or does touching it do nothing?

Jeff let me get that battery replaced and I will return . thanks for the tip

New battery and reset all front board connects. It works now.!!! thank you thank you . I appreciate your help

Glad to be of assistance
