I have a 12-year old Jenn-Air dual-fuel drop in oven with downdraft. The cooktop is propane while the oven is electric. Lately the oven has been taking very long to heat up and sometimes doesn’t reach the desired temperature (400 F say) within an hour of preheat.
I primarily use the convect bake and the convect roast settings. I stopped using convect bake months ago (maybe more than a year) because it was slower to preheat than convect roast. Now the convect roast is similarly slow to reach the desired heat.
I had never used the bake setting until yesterday when I thought I’d see if it preheated faster on bake. And it did. So it seems that it’s the convect settings that are problematic.
Last evening I used the bake setting to preheat then switched to convect roast and it held the desired temperature while I roasted vegetables
Both the upper element and the lower element seem to be fine as they both get red-hot on the broil and bake settings respectively.
I’ve never used the self-clean setting because I think that’s too hard on the control board.
What do you think could be the cause of the problem?
